Brief Introduction
GAO Yu holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning from Nanjing University, a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Sydney, and a Ph.D. in Urban and Rural Planning from Nanjing University. His research interests lie in the interactive evolution of political economy and urban/spatial governance, focusing on key issues such as urban transformation and development, urban regeneration, and regional collaboration. He has published or have papers accepted in leading Chinese journals such as City Planning, Journal of Natural Resources, and Urban Development Studies, as well as international English journals including Environment and Planning C: Politics and Space, Tijdschrift Voor Economische En Sociale Geographie, and Transactions in Planning and Urban Research, totaling over ten papers.
Academic and practice-oriented honors include the Commendation Award in the 22nd Jin Jingchang Urban Planning Excellent Paper Selection, recognition as a 2024 CNKI Highly Cited Scholar TOP 1%, the Third Prize for Planning Science and Technology Progress from the Chinese Urban Planning Society (2024), and the First Prize for Jiangsu Provincial Excellent Spatial Planning (2022).
